Alanur Is In The House

My love’s come to me!

Alanur is finally home. I picked her up from O’Hare yesterday afternoon. As a 7-year-old, she’s probably one of the youngest million-mile flyers. She’s been flying back and forth between Istanbul and Chicago for ever. This time was extra-special as she traveled by herself for the first time. That’s almost a 12-hour non-stop transatlantic flight. I’m amazed by the fact that she’s just turned seven yet she was able to make the flight just fine as an unaccompanied minor, all alone, with no whining, no problem, no nothing. I’m really proud of her. I’m also very happy now that she’s here with me. She’s, too. The last time I saw her was 14 moths ago. And before that it was another 19 months. So within the last ~3 years I’ve seen her only once, in May 2005, for 20 days. She’s starting summer school on Monday, and in the Fall she’ll go to 2nd Grade in Chicago. This means she’s going to be around at least for the next year. That’s good news.

Another thing worth mentioning:

Ed. I’ve decided to take this part down.
